How to Generate a Barcode in Invent ERP?

Invent ERP lets you generate unique barcodes for your products directly from the system — eliminating manual entry and reducing errors.

Step-by-Step Process​

Step 1: Create a Product Category with a Barcode Sequence​

  1. From the Main Menu, go to Sales → Product → Product Categories.
  2. Click Add to create a new category.
  3. Create a new Barcode Sequence and add a Prefix to define how barcodes will be generated.
  4. Click Save.

Step 2: Create a New Product​

  1. Navigate to the Products page and click Add.
  2. Fill in the product details and select the Product Category you created.
  3. Once the product is created, the system will automatically generate and display the barcode.

Step 3: Enable VAT in Barcode Printing (Optional)​

If you want barcodes to display prices including VAT:

  1. Go to Configuration → Settings.
  2. Under Inventory Settings, enable "Price Include VAT in Barcode".

  • Always create and configure the barcode sequence at the category level before adding products.
  • Use a clear and meaningful prefix in your barcode sequence.
